Walk-and-Talk…
Walking therapy offers a unique and refreshing approach to counselling, combining the benefits of physical activity with therapeutic conversation.
By stepping outside the traditional therapy room, we can engage in meaningful dialogue while enjoying the natural surroundings of the Forest of Bere. The gentle rhythm of walking can help ease anxiety, promote relaxation, and encourage a feeling of being grounded.
Walking therapy provides a space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, gain new perspectives, and develop coping strategies, all while benefiting from the positive effects of exercise and fresh air.

Privacy and Confidentiality:
Whilst all discussions between us will be treated with confidentiality and respect, walking therapy is conducted in a public place. As such, I will try to ensure our conversations are not overheard, however, this cannot be guaranteed.
Safety:
It is important that you feel safe to engage in this unique therapy, and it is equally important that I feel safe.
I will insist that you have a trusted person such as a family member or friend you can ‘check in’ with before and after our walking sessions.
I will also ‘check in’ with a supervisor before and after our walking sessions.
We will be walking on made-up gravel and dirt pathways which are uneven and have some gradients. We will not digress from the main pathways. You must ensure that you are capable of coping with such terrain.
You will be responsible for ensuring you come appropriately dressed for the forecast weather and wearing appropriate footwear.
Dogs:
I love dogs and I am content if you wish to bring a dog - ensuring they remain your responsibility throughout. By agreement between us, we may also be joined by my dog.
